LET'S CELEBRATE

Things to Do in Dublin in December
If you’re making a weekend (or longer!) out of your trip, there’s plenty to enjoy in Dublin at Christmas time. The city truly sparkles in December — twinkling lights, festive markets and cozy pubs galore. Here are some of our favourite things to do:
Explore Grafton Street at Christmas

Just a stone’s throw away from The Grayson, Grafton Street is famous for its Christmas lights, live music, and festive window displays. It’s the perfect spot for a wander or some last-minute shopping.
Visit Dublin Castle’s Christmas Market

Set in the beautiful courtyard of Dublin Castle, this festive market usually runs through December with artisan stalls, mulled wine, carousels and twinkling lights.
Warm up in a cozy pub

Duck into one of Dublin’s traditional pubs for a pint and some live music. Try Kehoe’s, The Long Hall or The Stag’s Head — all atmospheric and full of charm.

Afternoon tea at The Shelbourne

If you’re in the mood to treat yourself, The Shelbourne’s Christmas afternoon tea is a local favourite — elegant, festive, and right beside St Stephen’s Green.
Take a winter walk in St Stephen’s Green or Phoenix Park

Bundle up and stroll through the crisp winter air. St Stephen’s Green is right in the city centre, while Phoenix Park (home to Dublin Zoo and wild deer) is near the Castle.
Candlelit carols & concerts

If you love a bit of festive music, look out for candlelit carol services or Christmas concerts in some of Dublin’s churches and venues. Christ Church Cathedral and St Patrick’s Cathedral often host beautiful seasonal performances.
Book a festive dinner

Dublin’s food scene is fantastic. Whether it’s a cozy bistro or something fancier, restaurants fill up quickly in December — so book ahead if you’re planning a special meal. Some recommendations include –
Forest Avenue – Contemporary Irish cuisine in a relaxed, stylish setting. Seasonal, inventive, and consistently top-rated.
Chapter One by Mickael Viljanen – For a real treat, this two-Michelin-star gem combines modern Irish cuisine with artistic flair. Book well in advance.
Uno Mas - A buzzing Spanish-inspired spot with low lighting, an open kitchen, and plates made for sharing. A little taste of Barcelona in Dublin.
Peruke & Periwig - A quirky, dimly lit townhouse bar with creative cocktails and a secretive upstairs dining room.
PI Pizzas – Hip, neon-lit and seriously delicious — this spot does wood-fired sourdough pizza with a creative twist and a buzzing late-night vibe.
